OUR PARTNERS:
The United Railroad Historical Society of NJ is calling on businesses, organizations, and individuals to help us bring a long-lost piece of history back to life. After more than 60 years missing, New Jersey’s Merci Train boxcar has been rediscovered and will soon return home for a full restoration. This historic artifact symbolizes international gratitude and the sacrifices made during the World Wars. With your sponsorship, we can ensure that this treasure is not only preserved but also shared with future generations as a traveling educational exhibit.
URHS has set an initial fundraising goal of $20,000, for which we are seeking corporate and individual sponsors. Your contribution will directly support the preservation of this 130-year-old piece of history, covering costs such as transportation, professional evaluations, and restoration materials. Our sponsorship levels below each offer increasing recognition and engagement opportunities. Donors who contribute at our three marquee levels will receive prominent recognition, including: featured placement on a banner that will travel with the boxcar to New Jersey, public acknowledgment on social media, permanent recognition on our website, and an invitation to a special event at our restoration shop to welcome the boxcar’s arrival in Boonton.
You can donate online right now at URHS.org/Donate or check via mail to 104 Morris Ave. Boonton, NJ 07005. You can also reach us directly by emailing Info@URHS.org.
By becoming a sponsor, you will play a crucial role in saving this lost artifact and ensuring its legacy continues. Your support will allow URHS to educate communities across New Jersey about the role of railroads in wartime and the enduring bond between nations. Join us in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to preserve a rare piece of history.
